为去年第二张专辑《Forget The Night Ahead》发行过三支单曲，苏格兰新声代「The Twilight Sad」按捺不住，九月继续在“胖猫咪”(FatCat Records)下推出生涯第三张EP唱盘《The Wrong Car》，掐指算来，乐团成立七年，各类出版已逾二位数，并且封套设计颇具主题特色，值得整套购回一藏。EP由未露面新轨与混音旧曲组成，同请制作人Andy MacFarlane掌舵。两轨新歌不出所料衣钵传承前篇遗风（封套设计亦是这样）：残暴无情的吉他噪音环境，冷峻突起的后朋鼓点，统统交给James Graham绝望感伤的地方特色声线牵引，今次铺陈弦乐的<The Wrong Car>未曾缓和取暖，而后者<Throw Yourself In The Water Again>却欲刮起规模更大的风雪，只为将双耳再次逼回黑洞深渊。两轨老歌虽有名手重混，也没能使原作忧郁悲鸣弱化，其中<The Room>请来同乡前辈「Mogwai」操刀，也算是乐队与“恩师”一次深入的交流合作。(文/MIKEbye)

鼓手Ali Koehler挥别纽约布鲁克林全女生队伍「Vivian Girls」生涯，跨越美洲大陆，从东区来到西岸，投奔由Bethany Cosentino和Bobb Bruno组成的洛杉矶独立流行乐团「Best Coast」，三人编制齐全，处女唱片《Crazy For You》便于七月末上架。多篇七寸黑胶唱盘铺垫，「Best Coast」定下自我路线，却在不经意间连同「Dum Dum Girls」、「Vivian Girls」筑起一道女声系Indie-Punk-Pop复古阵线，一齐唤出安睡良久的流行乐韵，复现着旧年华多个节点的融合延伸。

虽携感性声腔，Bethany Cosentino未使唱调变成中心，通篇运用的强烈动作感单字，串句连段，歌词细节呈现年少懵懂时的青涩恋知体会，那一份倔强顽固与纯情可人捏拿得自然真实。浓浓Surf-Pop海风吹拂，低传真浪花推送车库帆板，一切均是故乡特产，难怪Cosentino把团队名姓改为「Best Coast」，主旨含义不阐已明（另一原因则是与自己姓名缩写相同，都是BC）。

《Crazy For You》的唱片封套让我不停想起80年发行的《Boys Don't Cry》，除开三棵棕榈，其一乃是冰冷艰涩的异地荒漠，另者则为热情温暖的海滨家园。「Best Coast」传达出：无论是这盛气凌人的稚幼告白，无拘无束的撒娇淘气，还是那辗转反侧的相思之苦，离情别意的怅惘若失，只因爱你太深，才为你疯狂。(文/MIKEbye)

   依稀记得应该是MIKE当初推荐了他们的一张EP，Just Say Yes。当初那股清新温暖的调调确实让人眼前一亮，其实说来女声Suzie Zeldin除了甜美之外，非常有力量，甚至觉得唱PUNK或许都不为过，再加上键盘手的身份，可以想象有多酷。相反，男声Jesse Gabriel主要负责吉他部分，他给人的感觉就是温和平缓为主要路线，两个人搭配在一起真的还非常不错。当然乐队08年的简单EP真的让乐队上了一个层次，受到许多主流音乐网站的褒奖，一跃让他们从家乡街头变成如今的小有名气。

其实之前一直有想法对系列做出些改变。如果你下载并听了6卷，你会发现和之前的5卷有些许的不同，那就是相比之前 “劲歌” 所占的比重更多了。前几卷我都刻意地安排了 “慢歌” 的比重，目的就是想合辑的抒情味更浓点。冠冕堂皇的说6卷显得更为霸气了，实在了说就是更为暴躁了。但是无论是旋律还是节奏，对于我来说这张合辑还是很满意的，躁而不乱。当然如果你钟情于抒情慢歌，大可无视这张合辑！
